A private driver will be waiting for you at your hotel in Rome to take you to Pompeii, where you will meet our guide and start your tour of the Pompeii Ruins. At the end of the view of the archaeological park you will be driven back to your accommodation in Rome by car.
The terrible eruption of Vesuvius that buried Pompeii in 79 AD left posterity the opportunity to appreciate and visit the city as it appeared to the ancient inhabitants just before the catastrophe. The Pompeians did not know that "Mount Vesuvius" was a volcano. The earthquakes that preceded the eruption did not make the Pompeians suspicious, who were still busy restoring the buildings hit by the strong earthquake of 17 years earlier. Pompeii, together with the nearby cities of Stabia, Herculaneum and Oplontis offers the contemporary visitor a suggestive and incomparable experience. Strolling through the streets and alleys, looking out into the various houses and workshops, visiting the temples and spas of 2000 years ago in an area of over 66 hectares ... it is only possible to do so in Pompeii.
